Pluckemin Presbyterian Church Offers Blue Christmas on Dec. 21st

A Service of Healing and Hope

Pluckemin, New Jersey (Dec. 12, 2023) – In just 9 days it will be the longest night of the year, right before Christmas. Rather than being a time of joy and celebration, for some it is a long, dark time of grief and loss. Recognizing a need in the community, Pluckemin Presbyterian Church began offering a "Blue Christmas" Service last year. It is a time for people to come together and recognize that they are not alone in their loss and grief.

If you are mourning the death of a loved one, far from home and missing family, suffering from illness, addiction, or estrangement, lonely, struggling financially, in conflict with another or hurting because of the great pain, need, and violence in our nation and world, then join us at 7:00pm on December 21st. The reasons for coming are many. We gather in the midst of suffering to remember God is good. God is strong. God is near. We are not alone, and we have every reason to hold on to hope.

Through music, prayers, readings, and scripture, those who attend are offered the love and light of Christ to ease their loss and darkness.
