Somerset Man Admits Carrying Guns Through Morristown Plaza, Faces 3 Years in Prison
Andrew Pfitzenmayer said he was on his way to a gun range after dropping someone off in Morristown, report says.

A Somerset County man admitted Tuesday to unlawfully carrying two Glock 9MM handguns through Morristown’s Headquarters Plaza and has accepted a plea deal that could put him jail for up to three years.
Andrew Pfitzenmayer, of Peapack-Gladstone, pleaded guilty to a single count of unlawful possession of a handgun, nj.com reported, and under the agreement will have a second charge of unlawful possession of ammunition dismissed.
Pfitzenmayer was arrested in July when someone in the plaza called in a report of a “man acting suspiciously,” and police found him in possession of the guns, hollow-point bullets, a book bag containing handcuffs, badge, and was wearing a bullet-proof vest.

None of those items were mentioned at the hearing on Tuesday, the report said.
Pfitzenmayer underwent a psychological evaluation in September while out on $100,000 bail. The results of that evaluation were read privately by Judge Salem Ahto Tuesday before the guilty plea was announced, the report said.

Pfitzenmayer told the court he had dropped someone off at the plaza before heading to a gun range and was unaware he was not allowed to carry the guns on his person in public, the report said.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 3. If given the maximum of three years, Pfitzenmayer will become parole eligible after just one year.
