Bloomfield Police Report Two Street Robberies in Two Days

Two men were robbed at gunpoint on Bloomfield streets within days of each other last week, police said.
Police say that on April 11, two men robbed a man at gunpoint on First Avenue near North 16th Street. The victim reportedly told police that one of the two men pointed a black handgun at him and demanded money.
The victim turned over $60 and a Nokia cell phone before the robbers fled on foot towards Newark. Both men were described as either in their late teens or early 20s and fluent in Spanish.

Police say another man was robbed at gunpoint two days later, on April 13, in an unrelated incident. Reportedly, the victim was walking along Orange Street when a man came running from Cross Street and pointed a silver handgun at him.
The alleged robber, described as a a 6-foot-tall light skinned, black or Hispanic man reportedly in a black hat with a grey cloth covering his face, reportedly told the victim to “hand over everything.” The victim handed over his cell phone and $20 before leaving the area.
