The Special Olympics motto "Let me win but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt," resounded in Brookdale Park at the opening ceremonies of the Essex County Special Olympics Track and Field Meet on Wednesday, April 24. Steve Jenkins of the Bloomfield said BHS Special Olympians represented the school's and community with dignity. Bloomfield High School Special Education coordinator Bob Beatrice again served as Meet Director and kept things moving smoothly with the assistance by Bloomfield Students. Coach Terry Nevins and staff had the Bengals well prepared for their big day. Jenkins said that while it has been a great year for Bloomfield Athletics, this was its finest day.
