4-Vehicle Route 70 Crash In Brick Leaves Man Critically Injured
The crash happened a day after a crash killed a woman a short distance west on Route 70.
BRICK, NJ — One man was hospitalized in critical condition following a four-vehicle crash on Route 70 in Brick on Saturday morning, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.
The identity of the man, who was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune after the crash, was not released on Saturday.
The prosecutor's office said the man was driving a Hyundai Sonata, and was stopped for a red traffic signal on Route 70 west at Duquesne Boulevard about 8:30 a.m. when the Hyundai was rear-ended by a Volkswagen minivan.

The force of the crash drove the Hyundai into a Ford F250 pickup truck and a Dodge Ram pickup that were stopped at the light, the prosecutor's office said.
The driver of the Volkswagen was taken to Ocean University Medical Center in Brick, where he was treated and released, authorities said.

The pickup truck drivers were not injured, authorities said.
The crash is under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, Brick Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
