Police were blocking off traffic in the westbound lanes from Herbertsville Road to approximately Burnt Tavern Road. The accident occurred between the two intersections. The detour was causing delays on Herbertsville Road, as westbound traffic backed up from the Maple Avenue intersection back to the highway.
Scanner reports indicated approximately 150 gallons of fuel were leaking into a storm drain near the scene. The Berkeley Township HAZMAT unit – which covers HAZMAT incidents in Brick – was at the scene.
