Brick Man Arrested On Child Pornography Charge

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said an investigation showed he was uploading sexual images of children.

BRICK, NJ — A Brick Township man has been charged with possession of child pornography after an investigation identified him as uploading photos showing children involved in sexual activity, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced Tuesday.

Robert M. Lasher, 71, was arrested Tuesday at his home, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

The investigation after the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force referred a tip that someone was uploading images of child pornography to the internet, authorities said.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit identified an IP address associated with a Brick Township residence as the location from which an individual was uploading images of child pornography, and that person was ultimately identified as Lasher, authorities said.

On Tuesday detectives from the prosecutor's office along with staff from the the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations and Brick Township police executed a court- authorized search warrant at Lasher’s home, prosecutors said.

An initial forensic examination of Lasher’s electronic devices led to the discovery of several items of child pornography.

Lasher is being held at the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, Brick Township Police Department, New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children collaborated on the investigation.
