Christmas Tree Curbside Collection Announced In Brick

If you had a live Christmas tree, Brick Township will pick up discarded trees curbside. You also can take it to a county park to recycle it.

BRICK, NJ — If the decorations have come down and you're looking for a place to discard your live Christmas tree, there are options in Brick.

The township will do its annual curbside pickup beginning Jan. 6, based on the recycling schedule in the township.

The curbside schedule in Brick is as follows:

  • If your recycling collection is Wednesdays, trees will be picked up Jan. 6-8;
  • If your recycling collection is Thursdays, trees will be picked up Jan. 9-13;
  • If your recycling collection is Fridays, trees will be picked up Jan. 14-16;
  • If your recycling collection is Mondays, trees will be picked up Jan. 17-21;
  • If your recycling collection is Tuesdays, trees will be picked up Jan. 22-27.

Trees should be curbside by 6 a.m. on the first day of the collection.

Trees also can be taken to the Brick Township recycling center on Ridge Road. The hours are Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Ocean County is accepting live trees to be recycled by the county's S0lid Waste Management Department.

The trees are ground up into mulch by the Ocean County Solid Waste Management Department. The mulch is used by the county for landscaping, slope stabilization at Ocean County Natural Lands sites, and trail work throughout the Ocean County Park system.

The mulch also is made available to county residents at no charge.

Christmas trees can be dropped off at county parks through Jan. 31 or can be taken to the county's Northern Ocean Recycling Center, 535 S. Oberlin Ave., Lakewood. It is open Mondays through Saturdays from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Ocean County Golf Course at Forge Pond, 301 Chambers Bridge Road, Brick
  • Cattus Island County Park, 1170 Cattus Island Boulevard., Toms River
  • Ocean County Park, 659 Ocean Avenue, Lakewood
  • Beaver Dam County Park, 3430 Bridge Avenue, Point Pleasant
