Dragons' Championship Strike Honored by Council
High school girls bowling team won 7th Tournament of Champions title
The Township Committee paid tribute to the dominant Brick High School girls bowling team Tuesday night with a resolution honoring their state Tournament of Champions season.
The Dragons slayed the competition this year under first-year coach Cara Lukosius, winning conference, sectional and group titles before earning its seventh TOC crown.
Lukosius and the girls gathered at the Municipal Building to receive the resolution, which Councilman Anthony Matthews said will preserve the girls' accomplishments for future generations.

"Your names will become a permanent part of the history of Brick Township," Matthews said.
Lukosius, who earned Coach of the Year honors by the Star-Ledger, said the underclassman-heavy team took some time to come together before going on its championship run.
