Jackson Township Police Lt. Fred Meabe had said Saturday afternoon that authorities were searching for Thompson in connection with the stabbing that happened at the Paragon apartments on Larsen Road.

Police were called to the complex at 11:36 p.m. on Thursday and found the 20-year-old woman, who had been stabbed in the abdomen and was severely injured, being tended to by a family member, Meabe said. The family member told police Thompson had stabbed the woman, Meabe said.

While several officers were taking care of the victim, other officers began searching for Thompson and found he had taken off in a vehicle believed to be a black 2012 Nissan Altima with NJ license plates reading SUV51A.

He was charged with attempted murder and Meabe said there will be additional charges.
