Man Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting In Jacksonville: Reports
The man threatened his own life after crashing into a vehicle with a woman and her children, then threatened a bicyclist, authorities said.
JACKSONVILLE, FL — Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that killed a man following a crash on Beach Boulevard after the man threatened to kill himself, according to a report.
Authorities say the 69-year-old man refused to put down his weapon, Action News Jax reported.
The shooting followed a standoff after the man's truck crashed into a car carrying a woman and her two children, the report said, quoting the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Authorities tried to negotiate with the man but as they talked with him, a bicyclist rode through the area and the man turned and aimed his firearm at the bicyclist. At that point officers fired on the man, the report said.
