JACKSON, NJ — Evacuations of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church and its school in Jackson were lifted Monday morning after investigators found no evidence of an explosive device, police said.

Jackson Township police posted a notice about 8:45 a.m. about the evacuation, which was prompted by a report alleging there was an explosive at the property.

The area was investigated by multiple K-9 units from Jackson and several other law enforcement agencies, police said, and there were no signs of any device at the property on Bennetts Mills Road, just north of West County Line Road.

Students and staff were being allowed back in to resume the school day, police said.

This was the second incident where an explosive device was reported in a busy location in less than a week. On Friday, an explosive device was alleged to be at the Jackson Premium Outlets on Monmouth Road. That report prompted a large evacuation but authorities found no evidence of an explosive in that incident as well.
