BRICK, NJ — Brick Township officials are urging residents to move their vehicles off their neighborhood streets ahead of a winter storm that is anticipated to drop up to 4 inches of snow in northern Ocean County.

Ocean County is under a winter weather advisory, issued by the National Weather Service Mount Holly office. The forecast issued at 6 a.m. is calling for the snow to begin early Monday morning and continue throughout the day.

Brick Township Public Works crews will be treating township streets throughout the night, officials said.

Residents are asked to remove cars from the streets before the storm arrives in the event that snow plows are dispatched.

"This helps our snow removal efforts and we thank you in advance for your cooperation," officials said.

Garbage and recycling collection for Monday is on as scheduled, officials said.

Brick Township police are urging people who have to commute to plan to leave earlier because the snowfall is likely to make for hazardous road conditions.

"Please remember to give yourself extra travel time if you must go on the roads. Avoid travel unless absolutely necessary," police said.
