Woman Stabbed 2-Year-Old Brother In Brick Home, Prosecutors Say
The child was found with a stab wound to the chest, the prosecutor's office said.

BRICK, NJ — A Brick Township woman is accused of stabbing her 2-year-old brother in their home in Brick, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Sunday.
Marlene Rodriguez, 20, has been charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and endangering the welfare of a child in the incident that happened Saturday, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Brick police were called to a home on Burke Lane about 2:30 p.m. and found the boy with a stab wound to his chest, the prosecutor's office said. He was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he is listed in stable condition, authorities said.

Investigators determined Rodriguez had stabbed him, the prosecutor's office said. They did not give any details or possible motive for the stabbing.
Rodriguez was arrested and taken to the Ocean County Jail, where she is being held pending a detention hearing. There was no immigration detainer listed in jail records.
