5th Annual Laps For Lex 5K To Be Held At Duke Island Park In Bridgewater
Proceeds raised by Laps for Lex go towards the Alexea G. Karpinski Memorial Scholarship, supporting graduating high school senior-athletes.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Iron Girl Project, Inc. (IGP) will host the 5th Annual Laps for Lex 5K Run & 1M Walk to be held at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater on June 8.
The proceeds raised by Laps for Lex and future annual events go towards the Alexea G. Karpinski Memorial Scholarship, supporting graduating high school senior-athletes.
Since 2022, Iron Girl Project has awarded 19 Alexea G. Karpinski Memorial Scholarships in the amount of $42,807 to high school student-athletes throughout New Jersey. The amount of the scholarship was chosen to reflect the jersey numbers Alexea wore at Hunterdon Central Regional High School, #22 for lacrosse and #53 for field hockey.
Danielle and Mike Karpinski, Alexea’s parents and founders of Iron Girl Project (IGP), shared, "In 2024, the Iron Girl Project raised a record $40,000, marking our highest annual revenue to date." They added, "We are proud to use these funds to invest in the education of our future leaders."
Sponsorship opportunities are also available at a Platinum Level ($1,000), Gold Level ($750.00), Silver Level ($500.00), and Bronze Level ($250.00). For $125.00, a small business, running team, family or individual can purchase a race route lawn sign customized with the race logo, an inspiring quote, and a name, logo or text. Signs will be placed all along the race route and will be available to take home afterward.
Iron Girl Project, Inc. hosts three key fundraising events each year for the scholarship fund. In addition to the 5th Annual Laps for Lex 5K Run & 1M Walk, IGP will host the Links for Lex 4th Annual Golf Outing on Sept. 29, and the virtual Flex for Lex Workout Circuit Challenge on Nov. 26.
Iron Girl Project, Inc. was specifically created to honor the memory of Alexea “Lex” Karpinski, an aspiring two-sport D1 athlete and Honor Roll student in her junior year at Hunterdon Central Regional High School, who died suddenly in November 2020. It supports high school student-athletes on their journey to create their own legacy, one which has a positive impact on their teammates, families, and communities.
