Active Shooter Awareness Training Offered To Somerset County Religious, Community Leaders

The free training dates will be held on Sept. 9 and 10 at the JCC in Bridgewater.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A free active shooter awareness training session for religious and community leaders will be offered by Sheriff Darrin J. Russo, Somerset County Sheriff's Office, Bridgewater Jewish Community Center, and Jewish Federation.

The training will offer:

  • Recognizing potential workplace violence indicators
  • Actions to take to prevent and prepare for potential active shooter incidents
  • Actions to take when confronted with an active shooter
  • What to expect from responding law enforcement officials
  • How to manage the consequences of an active shooter incident
  • Classroom and practical exercises

Free training will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 9 and Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bridgewater JCC, 775 Talamini Road, Bridgewater.
