Radon Test Kits Available

The Bridgewater Township Health Department, in conjunction with the Somerset County Public Health Partnership, is offering radon test kits at a reduced rate of $10. One kit per household will be available on a first come first serve basis.

Radon, according to a release from the township, is an odorless, tasteless and invisible gas in soil. It can accumulate in the house, and may contribute to the development of lung cancer.

The gas, the release said, is estimated to contribute to about 21,000 lung cancer deaths in the country.
