The 2012 Counseling and Therapy Services Scholarship was presented by Dr. Barbara Ronca, LCSW, to Melissa Forte, a senior at . Forte is interested in pursuing the area of forensic psychology at Marist College. Her goal is to study the human mind
and decipher "why people do the things they do".
Forte said this field would help her "figure out why criminals commit crimes" and she could help them, while at the same time protecting others.
In addition to her academic studies, Forte also participates in a variety of sports and service organizations, such as Key Club and SHARE, where students pledge not to drink, do drugs or smoke. She then presents programs to the elementary school children.

Forte received the CTS scholarship on June 7 at the high school with more than 200 seniors recognized by local and national scholarships.
