Branchburg House Fire Under Investigation: Somerset Prosecutor

BRANCHBURG, NJ —An early morning house fire is under investigation, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office. The fire occurred Tuesday morning on Burnt Mill Road in Branchburg.

According to prosecutors, round 6:20 a.m. the fire was reported via 9-1-1 to the Somerset County Communications Center by a passerby. When multiple fire crews arrived on scene, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

Investigators said the residence was unoccupied and no injuries were reported.

Prosecutor Robertson said that investigators from the Somerset County Fire Investigation Unit, along with detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Branchburg Township Police Department, and fire officials from Branchburg Township are actively investigating the origin and cause of the fire. At this time, no determination has been made.
