Bridgewater a 'Car-Dependent' Community
WalkScore.com rates township poorly for walkability.

Bridgewater isn't very friendly to walkers and cyclists, according to a website that has labeled the township an almost completely "car-dependent” municipality.
WalkScore.com, a website that helps its users identify some of the most walker-friendly communities in the country, finds Bridgewater to be more geared toward cars. The website scored Bridgewater an 8 out of 100 for walkability.

“Almost all errands require a car," the website said.
With Bridgewater being at the cross section of many different highways—Routes 287, 78, 22, 202 and 206—it is understandable why the township would be listed as requiring a car to get to different locations.

Although the area of the Bridgewater Commons Mall allows for walking between there and the Village at Commons, all other locations off Route 22 and elsewhere require the use of a vehicle (at least until you head into Somerville).
