Bridgewater Man, Four Others Charged in Manville Heroin Bust
Machete-wielding man was target of undercover drug operation, according to prosecutor.

A Bridgewater man and four others have been charged following a drug bust Wednesday at a Manville home where the target of the investigation threatened officers with a machete, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said.
Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano said the Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force and Manville Police officers searched the property at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday after an undercover officer reported purchasing cocaine from the resident on Nov. 7.
The officers served the warrant by knocking the door open and calling out “Search Warrant Police,” Soriano said. When officers got inside, they found the resident, Walter Lockwood, 52, holding a machete, Soriano said.

Lockwood then allegedly raised the machete over his head in an attempt to swing at the detectives, but was taken down by Task Force officers, who subdued and removed the machete from him, Soriano said.
After placing Lockwood under arrest, officers searched the residence—finding one bag of heroin, one spoon containing heroin, hypodermic needles and empty heroin folds—and the four other people in the residence, according to the prosecutor.

- Amber Siciliano, 24, of Manville, who charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle, both disorderly person offenses.
- Edward Blew, 32, of Saylorsburg, Pa., possession of a hypodermic needle, a disorderly person offense.
