Bridgewater's Yard Waste Site To Generate $29,000 Under Contract
Nature's Choice NJ, LLC will pay Bridgewater Township $29,000 for the right to manage, operate the Yard Waste Transfer Facility for 1 year.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Bridgewater Township Council approved a resolution awarding a $29,000 contract to Nature’s Choice NJ, LLC for the continued management, operation, and maintenance of the Township’s Yard Waste Transfer Facility at 136 Foothill Road.
"I think it's important to point out here is them paying us," said Councilman Timothy Ring at the Thursday Council meeting.
"This is the flipside. We used to have to pay, now people are paying us to do it," said Council President Howard Norgalis.

Township Engineer Tom Genova noted that over the last four years, Bridgewater has paid $24,000 per year to maintain the yard waste site. Now those operations will be managed by Nature's Choice.
"What's worth pointing out is we are one of the only municipalities that have a site like this," said Genova. "Other towns get containers that are dropped off and carted away. This is really a great benefit to both the residents in Bridgewater and again to public works to have a site like this."

The approximately 3.5-acre site serves as a drop-off yard waste site for Township residents and the Department of Public Works. The facility also allows limited contractor use by permit. Residents may obtain a free permit from the Division of Public Works twice per year for contractor vehicles not exceeding six cubic yards per trip.
Each year, Township residents and the Division of Public Works collectively deposit an estimated 120,000 cubic yards of material at the site — including around 50,000 cubic yards of leaves, 60,000 cubic yards of brush and tree debris, and 10,000 cubic yards of grass.
The Town Council unanimously approved the resolution for the contract at its July 10 meeting.
Under the proposed contract, Nature’s Choice NJ, LLC will provide year-round operational support, ensuring that the facility remains staffed and maintained according to the Township’s recycling schedule.
Nature’s Choice NJ, LLC will pay Bridgewater Township $29,000 for the right to manage and operate the Yard Waste Transfer Facility for a one-year term beginning Sept. 1 through Aug. 31, 2026. The agreement also includes a one-year renewal option at the same rate, pending Township approval.
"The Yard Waste facility is an essential service for our residents and a key part of our environmental stewardship," said Mayor Matthew Moench. "We are pleased to continue our partnership with Nature’s Choice and thank them for their ongoing professionalism and commitment to Bridgewater."
