DWI Crash Topples Traffic Signal Pole In Bridgewater: Police
The crash at the Route 28 and Finderne Avenue intersection happened early Saturday morning.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A driver was charged with driving while intoxicated(DWI) following a crash into a traffic signal pole in Bridgewater on Saturday morning.
At 2:35 a.m., Bridgewater Police and Finderne Fire Department were called to a motor vehicle accident in the area of Finderne Avenue and Union Avenue.
A DWI/crash investigation found that Gabriella Mirenda was driving a Mazda CX-5 and was trying to make a left turn onto Finderne Avenue from Route 28 East when she hit the pole supporting the traffic signal, said Bridgewater Police Lt. Douglas Thorsen.

The traffic signal fell onto the road after the crash.
Mirenda was arrested for DWI and charged with careless driving and improper turn.

Volunteer firefighters contained the fluid spill and were cleared shortly after.
The Finderne Fire Department, which covers the southeast section of Bridgewater Township, is always looking for volunteers.
Volunteers are offered complete protective gear, free training, LOSAP (Length of Service Award Programs), a pay-per-call incentive, a life insurance/disability plan, and an in-house gym.
