'Grinch' Strikes at Martinsville Jewelry Store
Decorations and lights stolen overnight, according to store owners.

Thieves stole Christmas decorations and lights setup on Martinsville's "The Jewelry Store" sometime overnight, spoiling the store's holiday appearance.
"The Grinch struck early this year in Martinsville," Nancy Leger said.
Leger said the thieves "took the time to cut each zip tie holding every light in place and went on their way."
They also cut anchors holding down the store's inflatable decorations.
"What is happening to this town when people feel it's okay to ruin other peoples hard work?" she said. "It's people like this that take the fun out of the holidays for everyone."
The theft occurred sometime during Friday night—Leger noted employees were at the store until about 10:30 p.m., so the theft occurred sometime after that.
She said she's worried other residents or businesses may be targeted by the thieves and said people in the area may want to be watchful.
