Interim Superintendent Appointment to be Discussed Today

School board meets at 8 p.m. at the administration building.

Though it’s the middle of the summer, the Bridgewater-Raritan Board of Education has a lot on its agenda for its Tuesday’s meeting.

The public portion of the meeting will begin at 8 p.m. at the administration building on Newmans Lane. Those planning on attending should remember that Newmans Lane south of the administration building is closed because of the bridge replacement.

One of the highlights of the meeting is the formal farewell to retiring Superintendent of Schools Michael Schilder. Schilder’s official last day in the district is at the end of the month, though he will be on vacation until then.

The board will meet in private session to discuss the question of an interim superintendent until a permanent replacement is appointed.

Also on the agenda are a lease agreement for computers, improvements to a baseball field and various personnel matters.
