KidStreet Closed This Week For Cleaning, Construction In Bridgewater

KidStreet Playground in Bridgewater is currently undergoing a $166,000 facelift.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — KidStreet Playground in Bridgewater is closed this week for ongoing cleaning and construction.

The playground at 700 Garretson Rd in Bridgewater is closed from Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8.

"Construction is progressing nicely, and Monday the power washing begins!" said Bridgewater Township Government.

In July 2023, the Township Council awarded a contract to TC Landscape Construction Group Incorporated for the rehabilitation of KidStreet playground. Read More: KidStreet Playground Repairs To Cost $166K In Bridgewater

The project, funded through the Local Recreation Improvement Grant with a match from the Bridgewater Open Space Fund, totals $166,000 for park repairs and restoration.

The project includes labor and materials to complete the repairs including asphalt roofing and fasteners, pressure washing and staining all existing fencing and playground features inside and out.

The project will also install new fence top rails to re-secure and replace 4X4 fenceposts in certain areas, replace seat and backboard benches, and replace seating boards at the sandbox.

Additionally, there will be a roof replacement of sheathing and the 30-year shingles of the play post office.

The project completion is expected around the end of March, weather permitting.
