KidStreet Playground Repairs To Cost $166K In Bridgewater
The contract of $166,000 will be funded through a local recreation improvement grant and open space trust.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Beloved KidStreet Playground in Bridgewater will be receiving a $166,000 facelift.
The Bridgewater Township announced on Thursday night the award of a contract to TC Landscape Construction Group Incorporated for the rehabilitation of KidStreet playground off Garretson Road.
The project, funded through the Local Recreation Improvement Grant with a match from the Bridgewater Open Space Fund, totals $166,000 for park repairs and restoration.

"The KidStreet playground holds a special place in the hearts of our community members," said Bridgewater Mayor Matthew Moench. "Families travel from across Somerset County to visit this amazing park and spend time in Bridgewater. We are thrilled to revitalize this beloved space while keeping its unique character in order to ensure that it remains a jewel of Bridgewater’s recreational spaces."
The project includes labor and material to complete the repairs including asphalt roofing and fasteners, pressure wash and stain all existing fencing and playground features inside and out, according to the resolution passed on July 20.

The project will also install new fence top rails to re-secure and replace 4X4 fenceposts incertain areas, replace seat and backboard benches, and replace seating boards at the sandbox.
Roof replacement of sheathing and 30-year shingles post office feature roof replacement and miscellaneous repairs as noted.
"KidStreet playground has been an exceptional playground since it opened in 1995, serving multiple generations of children and their families," Michael Kirsh, Bridgewater Council President, said. "Its diverse equipment fosters physical activity, imaginative play, and social interaction for children of all ages and abilities. We are excited to provide the funding to ensure that KidStreet remains an amazing experience for our youngest residents and visitors for many more years."
The project is scheduled to begin in the early Fall after pre-construction meetings have been completed, with project completion expected within two months, weather permitting.
During the construction phase, the township said it will make every effort to minimize disruptions to the surrounding area while ensuring the safety of park visitors and construction personnel.
Additionally, the Township will provide the public with updates as construction proceeds.
