Mold Discovered At Somerset County Library Branch, Prompts Closure
The library has been closed since this past Saturday after testing confirmed the presence of mold in the building.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — The presence of mold has caused the Somerville branch of the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey (SCLSNJ) to close to the public.
The library has been closed since Saturday, Aug. 9, after testing confirmed mold. Although the type of mold found does not pose an imminent threat, the closure is a precautionary measure to ensure the continued safety of both staff and the public.
"The health and safety of our community and our staff is our top priority," said Peter Bromberg, SCLSNJ Director. "We are working closely with Somerville to address this issue as quickly and thoroughly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and will provide updates as soon as they become available."

The branch will remain closed while further testing is conducted and the borough works with the appropriate parties to ensure the mold is remediated.
SCLSNJ plans to reopen the Somerville branch once the borough confirms the building is safe for public and staff use.
