New Outdoor Lifestyle Store Grand Opening Set For 1st Somerset County Location

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The wait is over. L.L.Bean, the outdoor lifestyle brand, announced its grand opening for its first store in Somerset County.

L.L.Bean is set to debut its latest retail storefront in New Jersey at Chimney Rock Crossing (348 Chimney Rock Rd) on Friday, July 25.

"The nearly 16,000-square-foot space brings the brand closer to its customers in the Somerset County region, making it even easier for them to find their favorite outdoor-inspired apparel and footwear. The Bridgewater store is L.L.Bean’s fourth store opening of 2025 as the company continues to expand its retail footprint," according to L.L.Bean.

The location was formerly home to Cost Plus World Market, which closed at the end of December 2020 due to the impacts of the coronavirus.

Grand Opening Weekend Highlights:

• Friday, July 25 (8:45 a.m.)
  
  • Ribbon Cutting with L.L.Bean representatives, local elected officials and YMCA partners
  • First 100 customers will receive a $50 L.L.Bean gift card
    • Line-up starts at 6 a.m.
  Friday, July 25 – Saturday, July 26 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
  • Free grocery tote screen printing
  • Boot lace customization bar
  • Family activities, giveaways and refreshments
  • Photos with the L.L.Bean Bootmobile

L.L.Bean will also make a $10,000 contribution to the Bridgewater YMCA to provide summer camp access for underserved youth, reinforcing its commitment to helping people enjoy the restorative power of being outside.

"Customers will find everything they need to make the most of every season, from warm weather essentials like lightweight sun-protection shirts and moisture-wicking shorts to the classics that established L.L.Bean’s reputation for quality and durability like the Bean Boot, Boat and Tote, Field Coat and flannel shirts," according to L.L.Bean.

L.L.Bean’s Chimney Rock Crossing store is mere minutes from trails, rivers and parks in Central Jersey. With easy access to Washington Valley Park, Duke Farms, and paddling routes along the Raritan River.

The Chimney Rock Crossing recently saw additions this past Fall with J.Crew Factory opening at the former Lands End location and Honeygrow, a made-to-order stir-fry and salad restaurant.
