NJ Transit Police Searching for Trespasser Struck by Train
Police are seeking the public's help locating an individual struck by a Newark Penn Station bound train Thursday night.

New Jersey Transit officials reported a trespasser was struck by a train in Somerset County Thursday night.
At approximately 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, NJ Transit reports the 9:53 p.m. Raritan Valley Line Train No. 5156 scheduled to arrive in Newark Penn Station at 10:48 p.m. struck a trespasser at Vossler Avenue in Bound Brook.
Service was suspended and a search for the person was launched, but authorities were unable to locate anyone.

The NJ Transit Police and Emergency Services Unit continued the search for the individual today, Friday, May 29, in cooperation with the Bound Brook Police Department, Somerset County Sheriff’s Office and New Jersey State Police Aviation.
The investigation contacted local hospitals, including Robert Wood Johnson, St. Peter’s University, Somerset and Hunterdon, but were unable to find the individual.

Authorities describe the individual based on witness accounts as a possible white male adult, between the ages of 18 and 30 years old.
New Jersey Transit did not report any other injuries in the incident.
