​North Bridge Street To Close For Paving Work In Bridgewater

This follows a New Jersey American Water(NJAW) water-main replacement project that took place this past summer.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — North Bridge Street is closed on Tuesday for paving work to complete a New Jersey American Water(NJAW) water-main replacement project that took place this past summer.

North Bridge Street will be closed between Vogt Drive and Foothill Road from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., said Bridgewater Police in an alert.

A detour is in place on Somerville Road.

NJAW's water-main replacement project on North Bridge Street in Bridgewater began in July and continued for at least seven weeks.

The pipe that was replaced was first installed in the 1970s. NJAW decided to replace 4,300 feet of the 12-inch ductile iron main from Prince Rodgers Avenue all the way to Foothill Road.

The project included installing new fire hydrants and new 1-inch line water services to each home. As of Tuesday, the project is undergoing its final paving of the entire road, curb to curb.
