It was the crimes of Timmendequas’ brother, Jesse Timmendequas, that led to the creation of Megan’s Law. Jesse Timmendequas was convicted of sexually assaulting and murdering 7-year-old Megan Kanka in 1994 in Hamilton Township.

Five years later, Paul Timmendequas was convicted of sexually assaulting two girls in East Brunswick, and he was sentenced to a seven-year prison term.

His last known address had been at the Beauty Rest Motel in Edison, but he was reported missing on May 26, when he failed to check in with his parole officer, News 12 New Jersey said.
