Superintendent Candidates Meet With School Board This Week

Also, changes in road access and Halloween events coming up.

After collecting guidance on the skills residents and Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District employees want to see in the next superintendent, members of the BRRSD Board of Education will start applying the guidance to those interested in the job.

Maybe there will be a good fit.

The board meets every night night week for candidate interviews—the meetings are not open to the public, and the board is not expected to take any action this week.

During the Oct. 17 board meeting, President Patrick Breslin said the district has received 27 completed applications for the post—and 26 that met all of the qualification requirements.

Nineteen of the applicants are currently chief school administrators in other districts, he said, four are principals; and two are supervisors.

"There was only one we weren't certain of the credentials," Breslin said.

This week's interviews are aimed at culling the number down to a few finalists before a decision is made.

While the meetings are closed, there will be lots to do in town—especially Thursday's trick-or-treating. Check the schedule for all of the events planned this week.
