Somerset County Seeks Volunteers For 2025 Fall Leaf Clean-Up Project

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — As autumn leaves start to fall, the Somerset County Office of Volunteer Services is calling for volunteers to participate in its Fall Leaf Clean-Up Project.

Volunteer groups are being asked to rake leaves for registered seniors and disabled homeowners any day during the week before Thanksgiving, from Saturday, Nov. 15, through Saturday, Nov. 22.

"Volunteering for the Fall Leaf Clean-Up Project is an opportunity to make a difference in your community," said Somerset County Commissioner Paul M. Drake, liaison to Volunteer Services. "During a season of giving thanks, you’ll be helping neighbors who are unable to do their own yardwork. Plus, it’s a healthy way to spend time outdoors."

Who Can Volunteer?

Friends, families, and community groups, including church groups, scout troops, 4-H clubs, school clubs, and other civic organizations, are welcome to volunteer.

Team Requirements:

• A team of adults must include at least four individuals.
• Youth groups must include at least one adult.
• Formal clubs, organizations, and temporary teams are all welcome.

Tools Needed:

Somerset County will not be able to provide tools. Volunteers should bring rakes and tarps. Leaf blowers and other tools are helpful but not required.
