Arbor Day Foundation Names Caldwell a 'Tree City'
Borough recognized for "commitment to effective urban forest management."

Caldwell has been named a "Tree City USA" for the 15th year, according to the Arbor Day Foundation, which sponsors the program in partnership with the U.S. Forest Services and the National Association of State Foresters.
The designation recognizes the borough’s “commitment to effective urban forest management.”
Caldwell achieved the Tree City USA recognition by meeting four requirements of the program, which include:

- A tree board or department
- A tree-care ordinance
- An annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita
- An Arbor Day observance and proclamation
“Everyone benefits when elected officials, volunteers and committed citizens in communities like Caldwell make smart investments in urban forests,” John Rosenow, founder and executive of the Arbor Day Foundation, said in a release. “Trees bring shade to our homes and beauty to our neighborhoods, along with numerous economic, social and environmental benefits.”
