Caldwell Church Bids Farewell to Senior Pastor
Rev. Jeff Markay of the Caldwell United Methodist Church has been reassigned to church in Chatham.

After serving 12 years as the senior pastor, Rev. Jeff Markay will say goodbye to the Caldwell United Methodist Church this summer, church officials announced this week.
Rev. Markay has been reassigned by Bishop John Schol of the Greater New Jersey Conference of the United Methodist Church to serve as the senior pastor at the United Methodist Church in Chatham, starting July 1.
The Caldwell United Methodist Church will honor Markay with a celebratory dinner at the Hanover Manor in East Hanover, on Wednesday, May 22, at 5 p.m. The dinner is open to anyone in the community who would like to join the church in wishing him well in his new posting.

According to a release from the church, “Bishop John Schol of the Greater New Jersey Conference of the United Methodist Church has made the decision to assign Reverend Markay to the United Methodist Church in Chatham N.J., where he can minister to many new parishioners and where he will spread his spirituality and enthusiasm to a new community.”
The church has been assigned a new pastor, Rev. Vivian L. Rodeffer, who will begin her service on July 1, 2013.
