Caldwell College to Award First Doctoral Degrees

Two members of Class of 2013 will receive Ph.D.s in applied behavior analysis.

Caldwell College will award its first-ever doctoral degrees on Saturday, May 11, at the college’s 71st annual commencement. 

Eric Rozenblat, of Oakland, and Denise Kerth, of Collingswood, will receive Ph.D.s in applied behavior analysis.

The ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the George R. Newman Center on campus, following a graduation Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the center.

The graduate student commencement address will be given by Gulay Maffia, who survived the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 while working at One World Trade Center.

Maffia, a resident of Vernon, will receive her master’s degree in special education, learning disabilities teacher consultant. She will share how surviving Sept. 11 caused her to rethink her life and put her on track to becoming a teacher helping children with special needs.

Chelsea Loscalzo, from Bayside, N.Y., who will receive a bachelor’s degree in marketing, will provide the undergraduate commencement remarks.
