Caldwell Man Faces Multiple Drug Charges

Police say month-long narcotics investigation results in Tuesday's arrest.

The following arrest report was provided by the Caldwell Police Department. The subject is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

A month-long narcotics investigation resulted in a Caldwell man's arrest Tuesday, according to police officials.

Robert Cornine, 20, was arrested at his home by Caldwell and Essex Fells police on April 2 after police obtained a warrant to search his apartment.

The Essex County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit assisted in the search, which turned up marijuana, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia, police said.

"The drugs were located within the apartment and the paraphernalia was associated with use of marijuana and the sale and distribution of marijuana," Caldwell Police Det. Brad Palatucci said.

Cornine was charged with possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana, distribution of marijuana, distribution of marijuana in a school zone, possession of prescription legend drugs and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Cornine was processed and released after $7,500 bail was posted. He has a pending a court date in the Essex County Superior Court.
