Caldwell Police Release Photos of Bank Robbery Suspect

Same man sought in connection with an attempted bank robbery in West Orange.

Surveillance images of a man police believe is responsible for the recenty robbery of a bank in Caldwell and an attempted robbery of a bank in West Orange were released Monday. 

The surveillance images from the PNC Bank in Caldwell, which was robbed on Thursday, at about 5:57 p.m., shows a man wearing a dark jacket, jeans and a baseball cap walking into the bank and going up to the teller. 

The man was described in a release from the FBI as a clean-shaven black man, in his late 20s, about 5-foot-6 inches to 5-foot-8 inches tall and about 140 lbs. with a thin build.

The FBI is interested in the same suspect for an attempted robbery of a West Orange bank about an hour earlier Thursday. Officials say the man is wearing the same hat and shoes in surveillance images.

The amount of money taken from Caldwell has not been released. The robber fled West Orange without any money.
