Environmental Commission Holds Tree Day in Caldwell
Stop by Caldwell Borough Hall for events and activities celebrating trees.

Caldwell’s annual “Tree Day” celebration will be held on Saturday, May 4, from noon to 3 p.m., at Borough Hall, 1 Provost Square.
Numerous events, services, activities and offers will promote the importance and beauty of the town’s trees.
Winners of the “Trees Are Terrific” contest will be announced and there will be a raffle for a $25 gift certificate to the Caldwell Nursery.

Tree Day will also offer:
— A chance to meet an owl from the Turtle Back Zoo.

— A tree expert will be on hand to answer questions.
— Information will be available about organic landscaping from Lincoln Landscaping.
— Free recycling bins will be distributed to Caldwell residents.
— The environmental commission, in partnership with the James Caldwell High School Scholarship Committee, is also offering free paper-shredding services.
— Face painting and other activities will be available for children.
— There will be a garden tool swap table.
— Change will be collected for “Pennies for Play” playgrounds, benefitting victims of Superstorm Sandy in New Jersey.
— The Grover Cleveland Middle School Ecology Club will have a table set up to offer ways everyone can “Do One Thing” for the environment.
Caldwell was recently named a Tree City USA for the 15th year by the Arbor Day Foundation.
