Lanfrank Steps Down as Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation Chairman
Board of Education honors Caldwell resident for her efforts for the district.
The Caldwell-West Caldwell Board of Education Monday night honored Marie Lanfrank, founding member and chairman of the district’s educational foundation.
Lanfrank stepped down earlier this year from her position as chairman of the Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation after leading the organization since its inception in 2007.
Over the years, Lanfrank said, the not-for-profit group of volunteers has raised more than $150,000 for the district, mostly through special events such as Taste of the Caldwells and Dancing With Our Community Stars.

Board of Education President Mary Davidson personally thanked Lanfrank Monday before presenting her with a proclamation from the board.
Davidson said it was Lanfrank who brought the idea of starting a foundation to the board.

“Not only did you start the idea, but you took the idea to fruition,” Davidson said. “It wasn’t always something we were comfortable with and you made us comfortable with it.”
Lanfrank has been a regular attendee of board of education meetings for many years and is known for asking questions, lots of questions.
Before she helped found the education foundation, Davidson said to Lanfrank, “you were sitting in this audience challenging the funding and where money was coming from as things got tighter for the state and for the federal government and what we were doing as a board of education to try to secure money from other places.”
Lankfrank thanked current and former members of the foundation’s board for their work.
“I’d also like to thank members of the board of education both past and present,” she said, “because without your support and backing for us we would have never been able to accomplish what we did so far, and the community too for coming out and helping us.”
She said she hoped the community would continue to support the efforts of the foundation on behalf of the school district.
Mary Ann Campion has stepped up from vice-chair to chairman of the Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation. Lanfrank will continue to serve as a board member.
