Registration Opens for 2013 Summer Arts and Sciences Programs
It might only be spring break, but it's time to start thinking about summer camp.
Registration is now open for the Caldwell-West Caldwell Center for Continuing Education's 2013 Summer Arts and Sciences Programs held at James Caldwell High School, West Caldwell.
The Summer Arts Workshop runs weekdays from Monday, July 1, through Wednesday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The Summer Science Explorations program runs weekdays from Monday, July 29, through Friday, August 9, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Both programs are available for students entering second through tenth grade in the fall. Students do not need to be from the Caldwell-West Caldwell district to enroll.

The summer program offers a wide range of arts and sciences workshops all run by certified teachers.
“The programs are presented with an approach different from what students receive in their regular classrooms,” said Supervisor of Summer Programs David P. Shapiro, Ph.D. “They are based on the underlying philosophy that learning can be fun, allowing students to choose from a wide range of areas that may be of interest to them.”

The arts program includes a variety of music, computer, craft, theater and dance classes. The science section includes classes in rocketry, chemistry, recycling, nature, oceanography, dinosaurs and more.
The annual program culminates with a show where children display their newly learned talents and artwork.
Enrollment is limited and a $5 discount is available to all registrations received and/or postmarked by June 7, 2013, for Arts and July 12, 2013, for Sciences.
Registration forms are available on the Caldwell-West Caldwell School District website at www.cwcboe.org/summerprograms.
