School District Adds Vacation Day
Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools to close Friday before Memorial Day weekend due to unused snow days.
Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools announced a change to the school calendar Friday.
Schools will be closed on Friday, May 24, creating a four-day Memorial weekend.
The Board of Education passed a resolution in December stating if no snow/emergency days were used by April 19, then May 24 would be designated a school holiday.

The resolution was passed after the calendar was shuffled around to accommodate a number of unexpected days off following Superstorm Sandy.
"I wish all families a safe and relaxing Memorial Day Weekend," Superintendent James Heinegg said in a letter posted on the district's website.
