Fairfield Police say man tried to dispose of drug paraphernalia while being arrested for outstanding warrant.

The following charges are merely allegations. The subject is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
A West Caldwell Man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when he allegedly dropped two paper pouches commonly used to package heroin while undergoing an arrest Thursday night, according to Fairfield Police officials.
Michael A. Capardi, 22, was arrested on March 14 for having an outstanding warrant issued by the Newark Municipal Court, police said.

Capardi was a passenger in a 2010 Infinity that was pulled over while traveling east on Route 46 near Clinton Road at about 11:10 p.m. The car was pulled over by Officer Frank Tracey for allegedly having tinted windows, which are illegal under new New Jersey law.
A record check on Capardi revealed the outstanding warrant, police said. When Officer Tracey and Officer Christopher Hlubik went to arrest Capardi, he allegedly dropped the glassine packages that are commonly used to package heroin.
