Fishing Derby in Caldwell, West Essex BOE Meets, Shred-It Events and Tree Day

— The West Essex Board of Education will meet Monday at 7:30 p.m. The school board is expected to formally accept the resignation of Business Administrator Michael Falkowski, who has taken a position at Ridgewood Public Schools.
— A special program for parents — "Why Do Adolescents Act That Way? And What Parents Can Do to Help Their Families Survive and Thrive!" — will be presented at the James Caldwell High School Performing Arts Center in West Caldwell on Tuesday.

— The monthlong crayon collection at the West Caldwell Public Library ends Tuesday. Donated crayons will be sent off to be recycled by an organization named Crazy Crayons.
— Jefferson School will hold its first HSA Beefsteak Fundraiser on Saturday at Notre Dame Church in North Caldwell.

— The James Caldwell High School Scholarship Committee and the Caldwell Environmental Commission will hold a Shred-It event on Saturday in two locations, the high school parking lot and the municipal parking deck at 1 Provost Square.
— Shred-It will be part of the Environmental Commission's Tree Day in Caldwell on Saturday.
— The second annual Montclair Film Festival runs from April 29 to May 5. "It's Sundance. Only Jersier." Find tickets, dates, times and locations of over 80 films, guest speakers, free panels and more at www.montclairfilmfest.org.
— The Westminster Choir of the Presbyterian Church at Caldwell will present the musical Urinetown on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 10-12. See a preview of the production.
