22 Tickets For Cell Phone Use On Chatham Main Street In 1 Day: Cops
Crackdown was part of three-week national effort.

CHATHAM, N.J. – Chatham Borough Police issued 27 summonses – 22 for cell phone use – to drivers during a Main Street checkpoint Tuesday, April 19 as part of the three-week long distracted driving crackdown.
The cell phone enforcement detail was one in conjunction with the national U Drive, U Text, U Pay campaign that runs from April 1 to April 21.
One driver issued a summons for cell phone use on Main Street that day was traveling westbound at the time of the stop. Ten minutes later, police said, the same driver received an additional summons for cell phone use while traveling east bound on Main Street.
