The Chatham Athletic Foundation was created in 2005 by a group of local parents to promote youth athletics and to increase safety in athletics through public education programs. Much of the initial work has focused on reducing the local governments’ burden of improving and maintaining athletic fields within Chatham Borough and Township, and the Chatham School District.

Hawk, who has been an Allstate New Jersey agent in Chatham for more than five years, believes that it is important to support his community. “Community involvement makes you feel good and is a great way to show people that you care about your neighborhood and are committed to it,” said Hawk.

Allstate agents who are honored with the Agency Hands in the Community award serve non-profit groups in many capacities – as volunteers, mentors, program partners, and leaders. Organizations must qualify for tax-deductible contributions under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
