Mathiasen, Dempsey Hold Leads In Chatham Borough Election
Here is the latest update in the race. Results are unofficial until certified by the Morris County Clerk's Office.

UPDATED: NOV. 4, 2021 - 5:57 p.m.
CHATHAM, NJ — As of Thursday evening in Chatham Borough's contested race for Borough Council, Carolyn Dempsey and Jocelyn Mathiasen, are currently leading, according to unofficial results.
Originally on Tuesday night after the polls closed, Dempsey and Bicknese were in the lead, 1,288 for Dempsey and 1,226 for Bicknese, with Mathiasen at 1,222.

On Wednesday morning, Dempsey had 1,791, Mathiasen 1,703 and Bicknese at 1,360.
On Wednesday evening, Dempsey had 1,924, Mathiasen 1,822 and Bicknese 1,486.

Here are the real-time results for Chatham Borough’s election with 100 percent of districts reporting as of Thursday evening:
Chatham Borough Council (two seats up for election)
- Carolyn Dempsey (D) - 1,950
- Jocelyn Mathiasen (D) - 1,850
- Freddie Bicknese (R) - 1,510
- Write-In - 48
The results of all of these races will be official once the Morris County Clerk's Office certifies each of them, after all mail-in ballots and votes from early voting are tallied.
