Chatham: Here Are Your 2021 Election Day Polling Locations

CHATHAM, NJ — When voting in Chatham Borough or Chatham Township, here's the best way to find out how to cast your ballot, depending on whether you've opted for a mail-in, early in-person voting or in-person voting method on Election Day.

Borough or township voters may drop their ballots off early or up to the designated time on Election Day by mail, in a drop box or at the Morris County Board of Elections. If a resident would like to vote in the General Election in person, they will need to go to their designated polling location on Election Day. However, in-person early voting is additionally an option for this election.

General Information About In-Person Early Voting
All registered voters in Morris County can vote early in person through Sunday, Oct. 31; and can head to the polls each day through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Oct. 31, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

General Information About In-Person Voting
According to available information on the Morris County Clerk's Office website, all registered voters who go to a poll location for the General election, will need to provide their name to a poll worker checking them in and may also need to show an ID to this worker.

All polling sites in Morris County are also accessible per the Americans with Disabilities Act.

For Morris County Mail-In Voting By The Post Office, Drop Box Or County Board Of Elections
Morris County residents can take advantage of New Jersey's early voting, if they have already pre-registered for a mail-in ballot.

There are one of three ways which Morris County's mail-in ballots can be counted, according to the State of New Jersey's Division of Elections:

1. By regular mail via the United States Postal Service.
2. By depositing into a secure drop box within Morris County.
3. By dropping the ballot off in-person to the Morris County Board of Elections Office, no later than 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, on the second floor at 10 Court St. in Morristown.

By Regular Mail: For residents who requested a mail-in ballot for the General Election, to be counted, ballots must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, Nov. 2 and received by Monday, Nov. 8. There is no postage required if mailing in the United States.

By Secure Drop Box: For those who would prefer to use a Morris County secure drop box, monitored with 24/7 surveillance, rather than regular mail, they may take their mail-in ballot to a dropbox location. Those red, white and blue boxes look like USPS mailboxes and are marked "Morris County - Official Ballot Drop Box." Ballots are retrieved daily from these secure boxes, by authorized county personnel, who bring them back to the Board of Elections.

Ballots won't be accepted in drop boxes after 8 p.m. on Nov. 2.

At the Morris County Board of Elections: Regular business hours at the Board of Elections Office in Morristown are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, though ballots can be dropped off up to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Morris County residents who take ballots to the Board of Elections, must show a valid ID; and if dropping off for another person, must have already completed the bearer certification in the presence of the voter, whose ballot they are transporting.

To Vote In Person On Nov. 2 in Chatham Borough
On the Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 2, the polls in Chatham Borough open up at 6 a.m., then close at 8 p.m. According to information from the County of Morris, Chatham Borough registered voters can find their ward and district on their sample ballot that was mailed to them. Voters can only vote in person at their designated location. Those with questions, should contact the borough's Municipal Clerk, Tamar Lawful at 973-635-0674.
Locations are as follows for every Chatham Borough District, for those who would like to vote in person on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 2, between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.:

• Districts 1,3, 4 and 9 voters should go to the Chatham Middle School's gym on 480 Main St.
• District 2 voters should head to the meeting room at the firehouse at 1 Fire House Plaza
• District 6 and 8 voters should go to the gym at Lum Avenue School on 21 Lum Ave.
• District 5 and 7 voters need to go to Washington Ave School's gym on 102 Washington Ave.

To Vote In-Person on June 8 in Chatham Township
Registered Chatham Township voters will also need to look on their sample ballots, according to the Morris County Clerk, for their voting district and ward; and can contact their Municipal Clerk Gregory LaConte with any questions at 973-635-3209. Voters in Chatham Township who vote in person are only able to do so at their designated polling location.
Polls in Chatham Township are open on Tuesday June 8, between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. and are as follows:

• District 10 voters cast their ballots at the Briarwood Coachlight Club House's All Purpose Room on 235 River Rd.
• District 3 and 5 voters will need to go to the gym at Corpus Christi RC Church on 234 Southern Blvd.
• District 1 voters are at the Green Village Fire House in the truck bay on 529 Green Village Rd.
• District 2 and 4 voters should head to Long Hill Chapel's Webber Hall on 525 Shunpike Rd.
• District 7 voters will vote int the Municipal Building's court foyer on 58 Meyersville Rd.
• District 8 and 9 voters are at River Road Fire House's All Purpose Room on 459 River Rd.
• District 6 voters need to go to the All Purpose Room in the Senior Center on 58 Meyersville Rd.
