Chatham Borough and Township Police Departments (PBAs 226 and 170), as well as Morris Township (PBA 133), Florham Park (PBA 78), East Hanover (PBA 227) and Hanover Township (PBA 128), took part in the competition.

The parade, which had been sidelined during the pandemic in 2020, came back this past holiday weekend with an excited crowd waving from the sidelines to Santa Claus and other parade participants.

East Hanover Police Department ended up taking the top prize in the police decorating competition for their car, though Hanover Township received a special nod on Madison PBA 92’s Facebook Page for their parade float and an officer who wore a “Ralphie pink bunny suit,” the PBA wrote.

In 2019, Chatham Township took the prize for top decorations, the PBA wrote, with this year's winner East Hanover receiving two Sloppy Joe platters as their prize.

“We are so grateful that our surrounding police departments took place in this friendly competition to spread Christmas spirit amongst our communities,” Madison PBA wrote.
